Reporting Damage

Reports of disaster damage to public property are collected by government officials working in the field and affiliated volunteers working on their behalf. Information collected helps officials determine areas of greatest impact and contributes to the decision about whether elected officials should make an official declaration of disaster.

Reports of disaster damage to private property may be made by dialing 2-1-1 by individual property owners. Callers will be asked a series of questions related to the nature and extent of damage and their contact information may be valuable if follow up is necessary to obtain further information. Calls may be made on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year, when a disaster event occurs.  Citizens will be notified to call 211 through media outlets and through social media.
